Three Principles, One Goal: Create Freedom by Building Wealth
To achieve true freedom, we just have to follow the Three MCubed Principles:
Principle 1: Any financial goals can be achieved by managing the money you already make
The most important factor in investing is time, not how much money you make. Because wealth is a relative concept, income level does not matter.
I love this example: a Vermont Janitor named Ronald Read passed away in 2014. To the shock of everyone who knew him, he was worth over eight million dollars. A janitor. If you start now, you can achieve any of these goals:
- Become far wealthier than your peers
- Create an entirely passive income source, with zero taxes
- Work the job you want without depending on the income
- Become a millionaire
- Retire rich or early (or both!)
- Own a vacation or luxury home
- Own a badass sports car
- Any other goal you plan for today!
Principle 2: Building wealth can be made easy for everyone
If you are willing to take just a little time to learn and take action, you can make yourself very, VERY wealthy.
Most people, especially my generation of millennials, do not realize this because they were never taught the importance of the time value of money in school. Think about it. Even though the information is more available than ever, it still can be confusing without a place to start.
Principle 3: Stop making others rich and enrich yourself instead
We Americans, especially we millennials, love to live in the here and now – and we should! But we also need to think ahead about our futures. If we have vision, we can achieve any financial goal. If we don’t, we end up putting most or all of our paychecks into other people’s pockets, like rich CEOs who make tens of millions A YEAR. Instead, if we spend less and invest that money instead, we can PUT THAT MONEY TO WORK for us.
The longer we wait to spend less and invest more, the more the rich get richer when we could be building our own financial freedom instead! THIS is how you live life to the fullest.
